Victor Rojas

Today heaven is shining a little bit more, as Victor Rojas, received his wings on Saturday, March 30, 2019. He left peacefully surrounded by his loving family. The past two weeks, he spent happily with family, friends and those special friends from Tae Kwon Do. He will be missed by many, those who called him Papi, Dad, Viejo, Wuelo, Tio, my brother, El Indio, my brother, Vitin, Sensei, Mr. Victor and my friend. He was known by many names in his lifetime and loved by all. Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Ramon Rojas and Encarnacion Colon Rojas. Victor worked in construction, was a finisher, painter and worked at one time for Warfel Construction Company. He formerly owned El Indio Grocery Store and was a cabinet maker for Hammerman Cabinetry. His love in life was teaching Tae Kwon Do at Universal Athletic Club and working out. He collected Indian artifacts and missed his beloved dog, Laxso, whom he had for 12 years. He was a member of San Juan Bautista Catholic Church and considered himself a very spiritual person. He is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Loyda Rojas, Lancaster, four children, Victor Rojas, Jr., husband of Gina Rojas, Holtwood, PA; Lydia Rojas, partner of Juan Rivera, Lancaster; Miguel Rojas, Ephrata; Vincent, husband of Jennifer Rojas, Florida; six brothers and seven sisters; eleven grandchildren: Jessica, Migdalia, Juan (Papo), Miguel, Jr., Anthony, Destiny, Jada, Joslyn, Jordin, Anthony G. and Jordan G.; four great-grandsons, Kameron, Orlando, Ocean and Sebastian. He was preceded in death by a son, Rafael Rojas, and a granddaughter, Lisset Rivera. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Victor’s Mass of Christian Burial at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, 425 S. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with The Rev. Allan F. Wolfe Celebrant. Final commendation and farewell will take place at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street (Corner of W. Orange & Pine Sts.), Lancaster, PA 17603 on Thursday from 7:00–9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until time of departure for Mass. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603. The family would like to thank everyone for their care and compassion at the Lancaster Cancer Center.
