Shirley A. Livingston

Shirley A. Livingston, 79, of Quarryville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Harry M. Stauffer and Bertha M. (Troop) Stauffer. Shirley was the loving wife of the late Charles A. Livingston for 45 years. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was never seen without a smile. She cherished time with her family, who were always welcomed into her home with warmth and good cooking. Her children fondly remember her Thanksgiving dinners, and eating the baked goods she made. Shirley enjoyed canning fresh tomatoes, red beets, and pickled cucumbers for her family to enjoy all year round. She was a collector of magnets, thimbles, spoons and pens. She enjoyed taking trips to Kansas to visit family. She worked as a Church Custodian at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Shirley could often be found doing word search puzzles and listening to her favorite music by Elvis and Johnny Cash. She loved animals, and had dogs, chickens, and turkeys throughout her lifetime. She also loved to go fishing. Shirley’s warm personality and infectious smile will not be forgotten by those who knew her. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Shirley M. Keemer, and Margie L. Smith (Ronald), her sons, Charles A. Livingston Jr. (Cathy), William J. Livingston, and Steven M. Livingston, her sisters, Margaretta D. Enoch, and Eva J. Coulter, her grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr, June, Joseph III, Tony, Sean, Jamie, Bonnie, and Jennifer, her fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles A. Livingston, her brothers, Robert T. Stauffer and Richard T. Stauffer, her sisters, Alice Kautz and Margaret Wright, and two siblings who passed in infancy. A Funeral Service will be held for Shirley at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 West Orange Street, Lancaster, PA, on Wednesday, September 30th, at 2:00pm, with Viewing starting at 1:00pm. Interment will follow the service at Riverview Burial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to Hospice & Community Care, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy, PA, 17552.
