Robert William Pennell

Robert William Pennell, 69, of Conestoga, PA, passed away at the home of his daughter, Ann on Friday afternoon, May 12, 2017. Born in Lancaster and a lifelong area resident, he was the son of the late Warren Leroy and Dorothy Marie Kensinger Pennell and the husband of the late Jane Yeager Pennell, who passed away in 1990. Robert worked for Kerr Glass for 25 years as a set-up man and injection molder, until he retired in 1997. He bowled in several leagues at Rocky Springs, Leisure Lanes and the former Lancaster Lanes. He also had the opportunity to bowl with PBA star Earl Anthony. He also enjoyed golfing, building model cars, and listening to oldies music. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Lancaster Barnstormers fan. His special love was vacationing with his family at Forest Green Beach in Maryland. Robert will be lovingly remembered by his daughters; Ann M., (Alan T.) Kuhn of Conestoga and Jennifer A., (Stephen D.) Stoll of Mount Joy, his five grandchildren; Crystal L. Pennell, Carina M. Irizarry, Brittany J. Stoll, Kayla M. Pagan, James E. Mahler III, Logan J.T. Kuhn, and Nicholas A. Kuhn, his five great grandchildren Kylie A., Joseph J., Stephen Z. , Kailani R, and Ezra M and his sister, Audrey Styer of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a sister Sylvia J. Long, a brother, Leroy F. Pennell and Warren E. Pennell. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Celebrate Robert’s Life at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 528 W. Orange at Pine Sts., Lancaster, PA on Friday May 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Hospice Chaplain Shayna Watson officiating. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The Groffs on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
