Ricky L. Riley

Ricky L. Riley, 55, was set free from pain on Sunday, December 20, 2015 surrounded by his family. Rick was born a fighter who fought to stay with his family however; God’s plan was to call him home to be with his Father and brother. Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of the late Clarence Riley and Betty Jean Riley of Lancaster. Ricky is survived by his mother, Betty J. Riley, three daughters and two sons, Trisha, Ricky Jr., husband of Hope, Kristian, Robert, husband of Karli and Annie, Surviving besides his children is one brother, Clarence Jr., two sisters, Arla Brown and Pennie, spouse of Laura Savage and one brother-in-law, James Covert, all of Lancaster. Last but certainly not least, are his five grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Clarence (Peenie) and his brother Lenny. Rick also shared many special moments with close friends that he referred to as family, John, Gerry and Larry, husband of Yvette. Rick was a laborer at Domestic Tobacco for over 30 years; most recently, he was also an employee of Conestoga View Nursing Home. Rick was an avid sports fan and watching EPSN was his pastime. He will be most remembered as a faithful and loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. It was rare that you would see Rick without some type of Dallas apparel on especially before a game. He shared his love of sports with his family and friends and the general public who would routinely comment on his Dallas attire as it was obvious who his team was! Rick was a devoted son, father, brother and all around family man. Family and friends were an important part of who Rick was. He loved spending time with his family who always put a smile on his face. He was an easy going man who loved to have fun and always gave freely to anyone in need. When you think of Rick, please remember his big smile, loving heart and of course the Dallas Cowboys. Queen Street, Lancaster, PA with Captain Timothy Sheehan officiating. A Viewing will take place at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremations Services, 528 W. Orange Street, (corner of Orange & Pine Sts.) Lancaster, PA on Tuesday evening, December 22, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at The Salvation Army from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
