Patrick I. Flanagan

Patrick “Paddy” I. Flanagan, 63, of Lancaster entered into rest on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Born in Columbia, PA, he was the son of Eugene A. husband of Martha Flanagan of Columbia and the late B. Evelyn Widener Flanagan. Patrick graduated in 1970 from Lancaster Catholic High School. Patrick was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. He spent over forty years working in numerous restaurants; The Loft, Molly’s Pub and Characters. Currently he was working as the Assistant Manager of the PA State Liquor Store on Fruitville Pike. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Columbia and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Patrick enjoyed time with friends and family, he enjoyed traveling which he had the privilege of visiting Ireland several times for his namesake and the beautiful Greece. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Patrick knew his most significant attribute was to give to others, he was kind in a way that would be impossible to explain in words. Patrick was most fulfilled when making friends, family and even strangers happy and his hobby was to do nice things for people In addition to his father Patrick is survived by his sisters, Frances M. Flanagan of Lebanon, Patricia E., wife of Willis Boyles of Marietta, nine nieces and nephew’s and a forty-two year friendship that he shared with Gary & George. He was preceded in death by his twin Michael W. Flanagan, and brothers, Dennis R., Eugene F. and Edward J. Flanagan. A memorial mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 121 S. 2nd Street Columbia, PA 17512 on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Mark M. Speitel as celebrant. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the start of service. Private Interment will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Patrick’s name to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 121 S. 2nd Street, Columbia, PA 17512 or the Diabetes Association, 301 Chestnut St #101, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
