Nancy J. Musser

Nancy J. Musser, 84, of Brownstown, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, Nana, Auntie, and friend. Nancy brought love and joy wherever she went. She loved people and valued their stories. She knew no strangers. She understood the worth of one day and she chose to rejoice in it instead of rushing through it. She taught all of us to slow down and seek the things of life that truly mattered: God, time, and being present. She was born in Troy, OH, and graduated from Ohio University. She taught high school American History and World Cultures in Ohio. She also taught ESL adult students from 55 different countries. She taught for the School District of Lancaster and IU13. She loved singing in the church choir, traveling, and reading. In addition to her husband, the Rev. J. Robert Musser, she is survived by her daughter Chrissy Lee (Kyle), of Brownstown, PA; her three sons Brian Ashba (Diane), of Lancaster, PA, Steve Ashba (Kara), of Lancaster, PA, and Scott Ashba (Teresa), of Lititz, PA; nine grandchildren, Ethan and Spencer Ashba, Devin and Lawrence Ashba (Katie), Olivia and Jeremy Lee, Jesseica, Nelson Jr., and Nicole Lugo-Mitchell. Her nieces and nephews will greatly miss Nancy. In addition to her parents, Robert and Lucille Swensen, she was preceded in death by her sister Connie, her brother, Tom, and her first husband, Larry Ashba from Lima, OH. We are so thankful for the faithful caregiving Nancy received in this final season of life from Sherry Moyer, Lori Roshel, and the fabulous team at Caring Hospice. Every caregiver went above and beyond to walk Nancy home to heaven in such a faithful and generous way. Friends and family are invited to Nancy’s Memorial Service, and welcome to wear purple, at Trinity UCC, 2340 State St. East Petersburg, PA,on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
