MARY MOWERY HALL

Mary Jane Mowery Hall, 70, of Lancaster, passed away at Hospice of Lancaster County – Mt Joy on Thursday, September 1, 2011 after a long courageous battle with multiple myeloma with her loving family and friends by her side. Born in Willow Street she was the daughter of the late Walter and Laura F. Bleacher Mowery. She is survived by her loving caring husband, Donald C. Hall with whom she celebrated 47 years on marriage in March. Also surviving is the joy of her life, her son, Michael C. Hall and his wonderful wife Lorie Nickel Hall of Pequea, PA and her brother Walter E. Mowery of West Willow Street, PA. She will be missed by her constant companion, Tinker Bell, who was always by her side. A 1958 graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School, she worked at Mac-It Parts Co. as Payroll Clerk, was Secretary for Skyline Homes, Liberty Homes, Weaver Fluid Power, J.C. Hale Construction and Old Mill Auto Sales and Service. She was a West Lampeter Fair Director and volunteered for Make a Wish Foundation. Mary Jane loved traveling, her flower gardens, and especially being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed antique shopping, planning parties, decorating, NASCAR # 24 and going to their cabin in Potter County. Mary Jane sends a grateful Thank You to her wonderful friends Tommy and Arlene Watson for all they did for Donnie and her during her illness; especially taking them to their mountain cabin, their love and never ending caring. Also a special thanks to Ellie McComsey and Diane Hershey. Mary Jane and her family would like to thank Dr. Peter DeGreen for his compassion, support and wonderful care and his great staff for all they did. Also a special thanks to Dr. Patrick Anderson for his care, understanding and care to all her family. Family and friends are invited to Mary Jane’s Funeral Service at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street (at the corner of Orange & Pine Sts), Lancaster on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with the Pastor Barb McCardell officiating. The Family will greet friends at The Groffs on Tuesday evening from 7 – 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday at the Groffs from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Service. Interment will be in Boehm’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Willow Street, PA. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made in Mary Jane’s name to Keystone Wildfire Crew, PO Box 117, Holtwood, PA 17532 or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation, Central PA Chapter, 800 Corporate Circle, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
