Kevin Todd Blanchard

Kevin Todd Blanchard, 41, entered rest on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at home in Elizabethtown, PA. Born January 1, 1972, at Barksdale Air Force Base – Bossier City, LA, he was the son of Phillip and Judy Geib Blanchard. He was married for 15 years to Lesya Gritsina Blanchard. Kevin will be best remembered as a philosophically big-hearted man who gave to others with unselfish sacrifice. He unconditionally devoted his meaning in life to being a father and husband. Kevin had a unique gift of touching people's hearts, had a wonderful smile and a sense of humor that brought joy to those who knew him. Kevin's intellect and deep substance of personal character were inspirations to many and left many deep friendships over the decades and across the country. Many said that he was “real.” Kevin was a 1990 graduate of Warwick High School and a 2003 graduate of the Eastern New Mexico University of Roswell with a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology. He was a free-spirited individual who relocated his family from Lancaster to Durango, CO in 1999. There he loved rock climbing and worked his way up from an entry-level position to become a pressman before going to college in Roswell. Afterwards, Kevin worked for various contracting companies across the country and was last employed full-time with US Airways in Philadelphia. Kevin proved himself to be a gifted craftsman who could diagnose and execute the repairs that many of his colleagues found overly difficult or impossible to fix. Kevin loved music, playing guitar, animals, hockey, collecting coins, swords, and working on motorcycles. His favorite book was The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. He had a deep and long string of faith in God. In addition to his wife and parents, Kevin is survived by four sons: Nazarii, Jullian, and twins Bailey and Bohdon, and older brother, Scott. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Kevin’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 528 West Orange Street (corner of W. Orange and Pine Streets) in Lancaster on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Roberge officiating. A viewing will take place at The Groffs on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
