Joyce W. Goldfarb

Joyce W. Goldfarb, 85, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. and Estelle Silberlicht Kamerman and the wife of the late Julius Goldfarb, who passed away on November 11, 2013. Joyce was very much involved as a partner with her husband’s real estate development business throughout their years together. She was a member of Congregation Shaarai Shomayim in Lancaster, and participated for years in the Sisterhood and Hadassah. She was also involved with catering functions at the Jewish Community Center. Joyce loved to travel and enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening through the years. One of her greatest pleasures was the taste of fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes and seeing her orchids burst into bloom. Her most treasured times were those spent cooking for and sitting around the table with, her family and dearest friends. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children: Gwen Goldfarb, wife of Kevin Bedgood, Michael Goldfarb, husband of Stacey, and Amy, wife of Michael Deptula all of Lancaster. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Alexa Goldfarb, fiancée of Ryan Thompson, Megan Goldfarb and Rachel Goldfarb, as well as her brother, Herman T. Kamerman of Boca Raton, FL. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Celebrate her Life in a Memorial Service to be held at Congregation Shaarai Shomayim, N. Duke at James St., Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rabbi Jack Paskoff officiating. The family will receive friends at Congregation Shaarai Shomayim on Tuesday the 21st from 10:30 until the time of service, and at a reception at the synagogue immediately following. The family will sit shiva on Tuesday and Wedneday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 216 Vinca Place, Lancaster, PA 17601.
