Irvin Lowell Wolf

Irvin Lowell Wolf, 84, of Lancaster, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Saturday, August 8, 2015. Born in Ephrata, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence Clair and Marrie M. Steeley Wolf. Irvin was the husband of the late Edna Mae Wolf, who passed away on July 27, 2011. He had served with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict on board the USS Badoeng Strait a converted air craft carrier. He worked for B.Z. Mellinger Ford Dealership formerly in New Holland for 22 years until 1978 and then with Dart Container as the fleet maintenance manager until he retired in 2010. He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Ephrata, American Legion Post # 34 in Lancaster, Life Member of the Ephrata VFW. Post #3376, Masonic Lodge # 43 F&AM, Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, Reading Consistory, Rajah Temple Shrine and the former Rajah Temple Yacht Club. Irvin also loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater. Irvin will be lovingly remembered by his two sons; Darell, (Karen) Wolf of San Diego, CA and Joseph K., (Ann M. ) Wolf of Lancaster, his two daughters; Deborah L., (Dennis D.) Doyle of Brownstown and Wendy L., (Vernon L.) Kunkel of Lancaster, his twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy, (Harold) Mohn of New Holland and his brother Elmer, (Betty) Wolf of Ephrata. He was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie Williamson; his sister, Betty Nelson and his brothers, Marlin and Galen Wolf. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a service to Celebrate Irvin’s Life at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jim Bongard officiating. Interment will be held at Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery. The family will greet friends at The Groffs Family on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Military honors will be rendered by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard and the Vet 21 Salute Honor Guard.
