INGRID O. TYRON

Ingrid O. Tryon, 71, of Lancaster, PA, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born and raised in Innsbruck, Austria she was the daughter of the late Dr. Ernst and Martha Vogl Ortwein. She was married forty-one years to her husband, Jon Tryon whom she met in Austria. She attended the Ferrari Schule for three years and then the Hotelfach Schule (Hotel & Restaurant Management) in Bad Hofgastein, Austria. Thereafter she managed the Hotel Steiner in Cattolica, Italy. She later became the Continental Manager of Leroy Tours operating tours to Oberammergau, Germany for the Passion Play. Ingrid then moved to the United States with Jon after their marriage in1970. Ingrid dedicated her life to loving her family. She was vivacious, outgoing, very personable, had a great sense of humor and zest for life. She was fluent in Italian, French, English and, of course, German. She also enjoyed spending time at her home in Salzburg, Austria and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. A member of the Lancaster Country Club, Wilderness Country Club in Naples, FL, and Gut Altentann Club in Salzburg, Austria, she enjoyed golf, tennis, and was an excellent Alpine skier. Besides her husband, Ingrid is survived by her two children: son Christian Tryon married to Heather, of Lancaster, PA and daughter Constance Tryon Pell married to Bryan, of Rutland, VT. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Herbert Ortwein husband of Dr. Edith Ortwein, and 3 and 4/9 grandchildren; Sebastian and Heidi Pell and Soren Tryon, who will soon have a new brother or sister. Family and friends are respectfully invited to Ingrid’s Celebration of Life Service at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street (corner of Orange and Pine Sts.) Lancaster on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael E. Messner officiating. The family will receive friends at the Groffs from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
