Ila W. Westbrook

Ila W. Westbrook, 88, of Bluejay Drive, Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at Signature Senior Living Center in Millersville, PA on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Born in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Orr Denlinger. Her beloved husband, Duane C. Westbrook passed away October 10, 2000. Ila was an active member of First Reformed United Church of Christ where she served on the consistory and sang in the choir. At one time, she taught Sunday School and was a former leader of Junior Fellowship. She enjoyed volunteering for the Blind Association. People would gravitate to her and her husband. She loved Big Band Music, dancing, being outdoors, especially at the cabin they once had, nature, being with friends, card clubs for pinochle and bridge, her former dog, “Timmy” and “Rocky”, her daughter’s dog, but most of all it was her family that she truly loved. She retired from the former Armstrong Cork Company where she worked for 50 years, most recently in the Accounts Payable Department. She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna C. Amato, Lancaster, PA, a sister, Sandy Denlinger Sheaffer, wife of William “Bill” Sheaffer, Chambersburg, PA, two grandchildren, Beth, wife of Larry Bonaccorso and Michael J. Amato, all of Philadelphia, PA, and two great grandchildren, Justin and Olivia Bonaccorso. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Witten and a step sister, Joan Kauffman. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ila’s Funeral Service from The Groff Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street (corner of W. Orange and Pine Streets) Lancaster, PA on Thursday October 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.. with The Rev. Dana Schlegel officiating. Interment at Riverview Burial Park. The family will receive friends at The Groff Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
