Eric Allen Flexman

Eric Allen Flexman, 54, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with cancer. Born and raised in Duke Center, PA, he was the son of William and Joan Robb Flexman. Eric leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion, most notably to his wife of 30 years, Missy Lee Flexman, with whom he shared a deep and enduring partnership. Eric moved to Lancaster in the early 1990s, where he met Missy at a Halloween party, sparking a connection that would grow into a beautiful marriage in 1994. Their bond flourished as they raised a family together, welcoming three children: Ryan, Nathan, and Emily. Professionally, Eric worked as an HVAC technician for Accu-Aire, later spending over a decade as part of the Hajoca Lancaster family. However, his greatest joy came from being a hands-on father, which included a period as a stay-at-home dad where he could fully invest in the lives of his children. Whether attending their sporting events, coaching their teams, or supporting their daughter's passion for dance, Eric was a constant presence, always giving his best. Those who knew Eric will remember him for his kind and level-headed nature, his warm and friendly demeanor, and the respect he garnered from all who met him. He had a remarkable ability to build and fix anything, whether it was a skatepark for his kids, an extension of his house, or just an idea. His passions ranged from enjoying the simplicity of a walk through Downtown Lancaster to attending shows at the Fulton Theatre. He was a true foodie, always seeking new culinary experiences at restaurants or experimenting in his kitchen, often grilling or smoking meals for his loved ones. Above all, Eric was an outdoorsman. His love for nature was evident in everything he did, from fishing and boating to skiing and gardening. His bond with his children was beautifully illustrated when he tore up his backyard to create a garden with his daughter Emily and his trusted sidekick, his Brittany Spaniel named Rusty. Eric’s idea of contentment was simple: sitting on his porch, enjoying a meal, listening to music, or simply lying in his hammock above the garden, savoring life’s quiet moments. In addition to his wife Missy, and his parents, Eric is survived by his children, Ryan Flexman (Karen Flament) of Lancaster, PA, Nathan Flexman (Julia LaPierre) of Denver, CO, and Emily Flexman of Lancaster, PA. He is also mourned by his two brothers, Robb Flexman (Dana Flexman) of Lancaster, PA, and Andrew Flexman (Jodi Flexman) of Duke Center, PA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eric’s Memorial Service at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster on Saturday, March 8, 2025. A Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the service begins at 3:00 p.m. Celebrant Randy Goldy will officiate the service. Memorial contributions can be made in Eric’s honor to the American Cancer Society. Eric’s love, warmth, and spirit will be missed deeply, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was loved beyond measure.
