David Michael Hutchison

David Michael Hutchison, 58, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at home. Born in Wrightsville, PA, he was the son of David Harold Hutchison and the late Joyce Baker Hutchison and was the husband of Karen J. Parmer Hutchison. Dave graduated from Hempfield High School and over the years continued his education, having earned many certificates in Business Management. He started working at the age of 17 for Ross Technology Corporation, formerly Ross Engineering. After working there for 28 years, he started a successful business, D & D Precision Auto with his friend of 39 years, Douglas Agesen, Sr., who was like a brother to him. From there he worked at Electron Energy Corporation and was currently employed with Dura-Bond Industries. Dave was a hard working, dedicated employee who made a positive impact at every company he worked. He was especially proud when he discovered a new process that saved the company production time and money. Dave was an avid hunter who enjoyed mentoring new, young people in the sport. He was most at home in the woods around nature. His other interests included restoring classic and antique cars, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Dave deeply loved his wife, daughter, grandchildren and dogs. He looked forward to Wednesdays when he could spend time with Miranda and Trevor, and weekend trips to the cabin with his special dog, Sassy. He will be incredibly missed. In addition to his wife and father, Dave is survived by his daughter, Jami R. Hutchison Huber, wife of R. Scott Huber and his two grandchildren: Miranda and Trevor, his sister, Ruth Garcia, wife of Cesar, a brother, Jon Hutchison and was preceded in death by his sister, Susan K. Hutchison. An Informal Gathering of his friends and family will be held at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 West Orange Street (corner of W. Orange & Pine Sts.) Lancaster on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. All are encouraged to bring or wear something that reminds you of Dave. Dave will be cremated and returned to the woods at the convenience of the family. The family requests that you take a moment to listen to, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill, and think of Dave. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, an organization he supported.
