Barbara S. Williams

Barbara S. Williams, 79, of Lancaster, PA passed into her eternal life on Friday, September 30, 2016 at home. She was born in Lancaster on June 21, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Richard Musser and Alice (Liller) Stumpf. Her husband of 59 years, Richard E. Williams, died on October 29, 2015. Barbara worked for over 30 years for Armstrong World Industries as an industrial hygiene technologist. She was a 1955 graduate of McCaskey High School and graduated with an Associate’s Degree from Franklin & Marshall in 1980. She was a member of Lancaster Unitarian Universalist Church, and enjoyed traveling, assembling travel pictures and converting them to DVD’s, gardening, bridge, and reading many books through their entirety in one sitting. Barbara, is survived by a daughter Rebecca Williams of Lancaster and her children Jaime, wife of Kelvin Simmons and their son, Landon; and Brandon Williams and his daughter Melody. A daughter Wendy wife of David Meaney of Lancaster and their children Jessica Hooper and her children Kaine and Shelby, Heather Meaney wife of Sean Overby, and her daughter Rachel, and Erin married to Brian Leale and their children Kyle, Lillian, Anthony and Sophia. Barbara was also predeceased by a son Keith H. Williams who died in 2007. His children are Christopher G. married to Carrie Williams and their daughter Isabella; Philip D. Williams and his children Nathan, Ciera, and Tristan; and Melissa L. married to Chris St. Germain. Also surviving is a brother David Hardy married to Margie (Reichard) Stumpf of Lancaster. A service of remembrance will be held at the Lancaster Unitarian Universalist Church, 538 West Chestnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 AM. Private family inurnment will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia, PA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Lancaster Unitarian Universalist Church at the address above or to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society of Harrisburg at www.lls.org/donate. The family will greet relatives and friends at a reception to be held at the Four Seasons Banquet Facility, 949 Church Street, Landisville, PA following the service.
