Virginia D. Hayes

Virginia DeHaven Hayes was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Virginia was born in West Chester, PA. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry V. DeHaven. She is survived by her husband Robert (Bink) Hayes with whom she was married since 1990 and her children and their families: Mr. and Mrs. James D. Hall, Lansdowne, VA, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew D. Hall, Boca Raton, FL, Mr. and Mrs. Henry David Hall, Farmington, CT, and Miss Nancy D. Hall, Evanston, IL. She has six grandchildren and four great grand children. She is preceded in death by her first child, Donald Scott Hall who died in infancy. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. George Terry of Wheaton, IL. Her sister Ruth, Mrs. Severn T. Wallis, lives in Winston Salem, NC. Virginia graduated from West Chester High School in June 1944. She attended Antioch College and then took many courses at Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Evangelical Divinity Seminary. She served as Administrative Assistant to the President of Mundelein College, Chicago, IL. In addition to raising her children, Ginny’s great love was teaching the Bible. For many years she had a Bible Teaching Ministry for women on the North Shore of Chicago. She was an active member of the Christian Speakers Bureau. Ginny continued her Bible Teaching Ministry here in the Willow Valley Community until failing health forced her retirement. Ginny played the piano and violin and her hobbies included sewing, tailoring, quilting and knitting. Ginny was an avid golfer. She moved to northern Wisconsin in 1975 and had a 40 acre tree farm. Ginny’s life has had some difficult times, but she depended on the Lord to guide and direct her and provide for her and her children. Her children had excellent college careers and now are successful in business. She thanks the Lord for His faithfulness. Bink and Ginny renewed their friendship and were married in 1990. They moved to Willow Valley in 2002. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Orr Auditorium at Willow Valley Manor, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA with The Reverend Norman Linhart officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, Memorials in Virginia’s name may be made to The Brunner Nursing Education Fund at Willow Valley Communities, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA 17603.
