Vincent F. Mizeras

Vincent F. Mizeras, 81, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at UPMC Lititz. Born in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of the late Vincent William and Estella Louise (Ringala) Mizeras. He was the devoted husband of Carole A. (Stokes) Mizeras, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Vincent was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He graduated from Fair Lawn High School in New Jersey and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Catawba College in 1965. Following graduation, he attended Officer Candidate School, where he was commissioned as an Ensign. He was assigned to the USS Boxer, LPH-4, and completed a tour in Vietnam. He later joined the U.S. Navy Reserves, serving faithfully for 27 years before retiring as a Commander in 1994. Following his military service, Vincent worked at RCA for seven years before joining High Industries, Inc., where he served as Human Resource Director until his retirement. In addition, he enjoyed second careers working with Reist Auctioneers, Miller and Secrist Auctioneers, and at Neffsville Florist. Deeply committed to service, Vincent was active in many organizations, including the Military Officers Association (both National and Lancaster Chapter), the Association of the United States Navy, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the U.S. Navy Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. He was also a longtime member and past president of the Kiltie Band of York, served as Judge of Elections for the Lancaster County Election Board, and volunteered his time with the Landis Valley Museum. In his free time, Vincent enjoyed reading, gardening, golfing, walking, collecting oyster plates, and cheering for both Navy and Penn State football. His greatest joy was piping, a passion he shared with many. He and Carole loved to travel together, exploring Europe, Canada, and much of the United States. For seventeen summers, they enjoyed their condo in Bethany Beach, and for seven years, Vincent delighted in sailing the Chesapeake Bay. In addition to his wife, Vincent is survived by his son, Bradley Scott (Yvonne) Mizeras of Yulee, FL; three grandchildren, Samantha Paige (Chelsea) Mizeras of Lancaster, PA, Sydney Nicole (Deaven) Mizeras of Winter Park, FL, and Bryce Alan Mizeras of Lancaster, PA; his brother, Alan Vincent (Jay) Mizeras of Hendersonville, NC; and his niece, Laura, and nephew, Eric. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Alan Mizeras, who passed away in 2021, along with his parents. A Graveside Service in Vincent’s honor will be held at Ft Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with family at a future date.
