Ronald J. Miller

Ronald J. Miller, a resident of Lancaster, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the age of 83. Ron, or Pa, as he was affectionately known, was a diligent individual who found great joy in his professional endeavors and cherished family. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ethel Lightner Miller. Ron's journey led him through various locales before he made Lancaster his home. He proudly served his country as a US Army Veteran. Throughout his remarkable 44-year tenure as a sales representative at Rockwell International (later Sensus Technologies), Ron demonstrated unwavering dedication and expertise in his field. He was a 50-year member at Hamilton Park United Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and a member of The Consistory. Outside of his professional life, Ron was an avid outdoorsman, finding solace in the woodlands around State College and the serene landscapes of Canada. Whether golfing, hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the camaraderie of his companions, Ron found immense fulfillment in these pursuits. His memberships in the Conestoga Country Club, Columbia Elks, and Ducks Unlimited underscored his passion for community and the outdoors. Ron will be deeply missed as the beloved husband of Bonnie L. (Bertollini) with whom he recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Together they built a family filled with love and laughter. Ron was the devoted father of Ronda M. Anderson (Rodney), Christopher J. (Ruth) Miller, and Russell B. (Kelly) Miller. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and his legacy will continue to grow through John, William, Veronica, and R.J. Relatives and friends are invited to honor Ron's memory at Hamilton Park United Church of Christ, 1210 Maple Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603, on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet guests at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster.
