Richard Lewis Reynolds

Richard Lewis Reynolds, 88, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Walter Worth and Marie Emma Kuhule Reynolds and the loving husband of Kieu T. Reynolds for 47 years. He served in the U.S. Army as Staff Seargeant First Class for 25 years enlisting four times and received the National Defense Service Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 device; Bronze Star Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster and 3 O/S Bars. He worked as a Physician’s Assistant in the Military. Upon returning to Lancaster, Richard worked for Weis Markets (Manor Shopping Center) in the produce department for 20 years. He was a Boy Scout Leader for 34 years and a member of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors and the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard. He enjoyed hiking and camping. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children: Lynda K. Reynolds, wife of Jeffrey Millward, Harrisburg, PA, Lia N. Zerbe, Reading, PA, Deborah R. wife of Richard Ball, Fivepointville, PA, Denise M. wife of Wayne Schell, Ronks, PA, Richard L. Reynolds, Jr., Columbia, PA, James E. Reynolds, New Providence, PA, Lee A. Reynolds, Lancaster, PA, son, Tuyen, husband of Shelia Tran, Lancaster, PA, sister, Doris R. McKay, Weymouth, MA, half sisters: Susan E. (Ronald P.) Bernhardt, Kathleen L. (Thomas M. Heisler III) and Cynthia L. Reynolds. Seven grandchildren: Kristina Hample (Luke), Jonathan Gilbert (Joan), Justin Schell (Brittany), Valeria Zerbe, Jay Tran, Kiera Tran and Victoria Tran and five great-grandchildren: MaKenna Heisey, Marilyn Hample, Brielle Schell, Adelaide Gilbert, and Eillott Tran. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Sebastian, Lancaster, PA, half sister, Rebecca M. Horn, Lancaster, PA and half brother, Warren W. (Sherry Platt) Reynolds, Conestoga, PA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Richard’s Funeral Service at Historic Fred F. Groff, 234 W. Orange, Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Sarah Wiegner officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Fred F. Groff, Inc. as well as Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
