Patricia Groff Hershock

Patricia A. “Pat” Hershock (Groff), 91, a resident of Willow Valley, passed away December 24, 2025. She was born in Lancaster, PA, daughter of Amanda (Gish) and Abram Lloyd Groff. She was a loving wife to her high school sweetheart, Bob Hershock, for 64 years before he preceded her in passing in 2020. Pat attended McCaskey High School (Class of 1952) where she became the first female Class President. She graduated from Bucknell University where she majored in Business and Finance and enjoyed spending time with her Kappa Delta sisters. She went on to raise 4 children, work in Medical Transcription, and gracefully create magic for everyone in her orbit. Patsy was a loving and intelligent gal who was always thinking of others. She excelled at all her hobbies - winning golf tournaments, mastering Bridge, and countless crafts. She was a generous soul, donating both time and money to causes like the Philanthropic Educational Organization, Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and many more. Whether she was knitting hats for newborns or beating you at cards, Pat was equal parts kind and competitive. She deeply cherished her family’s home in Mount Gretna, where she spent much of her time growing up and took her first steps. The cottage was a pillar throughout her life. Eventually, she and Bob took over the family cottage and enjoyed hosting family, friends, and even Mount Gretna Music performers. She spent many evenings sitting on the porch, listening to the sounds of Gretna and laughing at Bob’s jokes. Pat is survived by her children, Kimberly Eddy of Chaska, MN, Lynn Thompson of Mount Joy, PA, and Steve Hershock of Jackson, WY; her grandchildren, Henry, Sean, Shea, Allison, Andrew, Taryn and Justin; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, her son Robert Hershock, Jr., her brother Abram Lloyd Groff, Jr., and her sister Barbara Sue Groff. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
