Nancy Oblender Werner

Nancy Oblender Werner, 70, of Lancaster, PA, died surrounded by family at her home on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of Norma Constantine Oblender of Lancaster and the late Howard Oblender. She was the wife of John H. Werner with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage in November of 2016. She was a graduate of Lampeter Strasburg High School, and attended Hagerstown Medical Secretarial School. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she enjoyed volunteering her time. Nancy was a U.S. Postal Service employee for over 30 years. In her retirement she worked at the Lancaster County Courthouse as a bailiff. In her free time she enjoyed spending time at the Delaware Beaches, doing crafts, and Nancy was also a volunteer for the Willow Street Ambulance Co. as an EMT. Nancy was a very dedicated mother, grandmother, and aunt to her many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her children: daughter, Lisa W., wife of Joseph Beals, Pennsville, NJ, daughter, Vanessa W., wife of Quentin Moore, Lancaster, PA, brother, Tom husband of Christine Oblender, Lititz, PA, sister Shelly wife of Steve Hampton of Dover, DE. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Derrek Beals, Annalisa Moore and Maddison Longenecker. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nancy’s Funeral Service on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA with The Rev. Mark L. Russell officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc, 528 West Orange Street, (corner of W. Orange & Pine Sts.), Lancaster, PA 17603 and also on Monday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private family interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster at the convenience of the family.
