Nadine Doris Eshleman

Nadine Doris Eshleman, 93, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Monday evening at Trillium Place, where she resided for eight years. She was the widow of Russell E. Eshleman, to whom she was married for 52 years until his death in 2003. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Stoe. Nadine spent nearly four decades working at Lafayette Elementary School in Lancaster, a block away from the family home on Union Street. She began as a lunchroom aide and eventually worked in the office and as an aide in the classroom, where young students and teachers loved her pleasant personality. After she retired, she enjoyed taking bus trips throughout the country with senior citizen groups. She was also a talented seamstress as well as a devoted Phillies and Eagles fan. Her favorite activity, however, was simply being Nanny to her family and cooking their Lancaster County favorites – chicken pot pie, pig stomach and liver knepp. Nadine was a 1949 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School and a longtime member of the Conestoga United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Russell E. Jr., married to Lisa McKinney Eshleman, and Todd H., married to Vickie Mylin Eshleman, both of Landisville, and a special niece, Kelly, married to Rick Miller of Holtwood. Five grandchildren also survive – Andrew (Kim) of Downingtown; Angela Dobrzykowski (Jason) of Towson, Maryland; Adam (Kady) of Redondo Beach, California; Eric (Kara) of Willow Street; and Emily Kreider (Craig) of Lancaster; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Binkley. Nadine’s family would like to acknowledge the hardworking staff at Trillium Place for their dedication. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Nadine’s memory to the Tandem Living Benevolent Care program, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601, or Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nadine’s Funeral Service at Conestoga United Methodist Church, 71 Sand Hill Road, Conestoga, PA, on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held in the Conestoga United Methodist Cemetery.
