Michael L. Price

Michael Leo Price, 72, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Scranton, PA, Michael was the son of Thomas E. Price and Marie E. Price. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his stepmother, Vera Price, and his dear Aunt Mary Jane Price. For the past 38 years, Michael and his beloved wife, Cheryl C. Price, made their home in Washington Boro, PA. They were married for 53 years, sharing a deeply loving and supportive relationship, inseparable through life’s joys and challenges. Together, they built a home centered on faith, family, and community. Michael graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College with a degree in Business Management. He volunteered as Assistant Fire Chief and Training Officer for Coolbaugh Township Volunteer Fire Company in the Poconos from 1975 to 1988. He began his career with Bell of Pennsylvania (later Verizon) in 1972, working as an engineer from 1988 to 2006. After retirement, he was reemployed as a Right-of-Way Agent for PPL Corporation from 2008 to 2018. A man of deep faith, Michael loved the Lord and spoke openly about the hope he had in Christ. He helped start Pocono Mountain Bible Fellowship Church (Kirk in the Woods), served as a chairman of the deacons at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, and was an active member and past deacon at Community Bible Church. He and Cheryl were deeply involved in their Life Group, forming lifelong friendships. Michael never met a stranger. An avid talker, he had a gift for turning brief conversations into lasting connections. He informally mentored many, offering encouragement, practical wisdom, and guidance. He lived his faith in daily action, always ready to listen, advise, and pray. He had many passions and hobbies. He was an enthusiastic fly fisherman who tied his own flies, a lifelong outdoorsman, and a collector of antiques, especially barber memorabilia. He loved to travel, especially to see lighthouses, with a special passion for Chincoteague, Virginia. Michael was also a devoted reader, photographer, and, in later years, an avid oil painter. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; sons, Michael T. Price and wife Robin, and Scott R. Price and wife Ashley; brother, Thomas J. Price and wife Sally; grandson, Cory; granddaughter, Jordan; great-grandchildren, Aubree and Brielle; and nephew, Devin Price and wife Shelly, along with great-nephews and niece Gavin, C.J., Caleb, Colton, Mack, Victor, Bridger, and Sadie. He treasured his family deeply and was immensely proud of them. While his absence leaves an ache in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life and in knowing that he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His Celebration of Life will be held at Community Bible Church, 331 Anderson Ferry Road, Marietta, PA, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service.
