Marian Clothier

Marian (Danner) Wolfe Clothier, 92, of Lancaster, PA died at the Mennonite Home on Friday, April 15, 2016. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles L., Sr. and Fern E. McLaughlin Danner and the wife of the late Harry W. Wolfe, Jr. who died in June 28, 1989 and the late Norman G. Clothier who died in August 12, 2002. Marian graduated from Paradise High School in 1941. She was a member of Lititz Church of the Brethren. Marian worked for RCA for 40 years, retiring in 1984, and then moved to Florida for the next 20 years. She was very active in the Order of Eastern Star. She was a past Matron and District Deputy, traveling to many functions and Conventions. While in Florida, Marian was very active in the association of the Mobile Home Park where she lived, serving on the Board of Directors, Bocce Ball Team, played cards, Shuffleboard Team and numerous other things. She stayed about a year after her husband Norm died, and then decided to come back North to be with the rest of the family. She moved to Lancaster in 2004 to Woodcrest Villa for 8 years, eventually moving to the Mennonite Home in 2012. While at Woodcrest Villa she served on the Marketing Committee, was the door tender when new residents moved in, volunteered in the gift shop, played cards, and crocheted afghans. Marian kept busy. She is survived by one sister: Millie A. wife of James Eby of Lititz, PA, and one sister-in-law, Ethel Danner, three step-children: Priscilla Durante, Idajean Dyslin both of North Carolina and Norman Clothier of Minnesota and several step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: the late Charles L. Danner, Sr., William H. Danner, Sr., and James R. Danner. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Marian’s Memorial Service to be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange Street, Lititz, PA 17543 with Pastor Steve Hess officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service and a viewing will be on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 6-8:00 p.m. at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. Private interment will be Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marian’s name may be made to Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W.
