Margery Dupuy Harvey

Margery Dupuy Harvey, 90, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2025. Margery was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and shared her faith with all who knew her. Her friends and family will remember her loving spirit and giving nature. Marge thoroughly enjoyed working in her garden, as well as observing the birds and occasional deer that would come through her backyard. She loved hosting family get-togethers, visiting friends and neighbors, going to hymn sings at her church, and playing with her great-grandchildren. She made friends with everyone she met and will be remembered as a woman who loved life and was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Margery was born in Echo, Louisiana on October 2, 1934. She was the youngest of seven children born to Jules and Rosalie Dupuy. Marge moved from New Orleans, Louisiana to Lancaster, PA with her husband, Clark, in 2006 following Hurricane Katrina. Marge loved caring for children and spent several years teaching at Congregation Gates of Prayer Preschool in Metairie, Louisiana before moving to Lancaster. She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Harvey Higgins (Pete) of Lancaster, and her son, John Scott Harvey, Sr. (Margaret) of Madison, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Kendall Harvey, Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana, and son, David Ray Harvey of Houston, Texas. Margery had 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. Her grandchildren are Melissa Harvey Lange (Justin Bonnette), Jared Higgins, Jessica Higgins Galante (Adam), Heather Higgins Smith (Dan), Kristen Higgins Kishbaugh (Ryan), Anne Clark Harvey Wood (Gene) and John (Jack) Scott Harvey, Jr. She will be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren: Brandon Lange (Tarrah), Blake Lange, Maxwell Galante, Zoe Galante, Wyatt Smith, Chase Smith, Charlotte Kishbaugh and great-great-grandson, Julian Lange. A Memorial Service for Margery will be held at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come by and share their memories of Marge. A private burial will follow for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate loved ones giving a financial gift to Calvary Church in Lancaster where she worshipped, or donating blood at their local blood bank, as blood transfusions helped to extend her life, allowing family and friends to enjoy her presence longer.
