Linda Sue Cramer

Linda Sue Cramer, 77, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on August 3, 2024. She was born in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Vernie Howard and Hazel Mae (Miller) Wood. Linda was the loving wife of Edgar “Larry” Cramer for 54 years. Linda graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1965. As a devoted daughter, Linda joined her father to run the family manufactured home business. It was there she learned the real estate business and realized her passion was the mortgage business. Linda found great joy in assisting people in purchasing their first homes or achieving their home ownership dreams. Her career in the mortgage industry spanned three decades, culminating in her role as the Branch Manager for Gateway Funding. Linda made a positive impact on many lives. If one of Linda’s clients met a member of Linda’s family, clients would often share stories of how Linda made a difference in their lives. In addition to working and raising a family with Larry, Linda was an active member in the community. She was a member of the ABWA and Lancaster Business TEAM. She was a member and Bible school teacher/helper of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Linda was a devoted mother and very active with her children, serving as a Cub Scouts Den mother, and a school booster and PTO member. Linda lovingly supported her children’s interests, passions and friendships, welcoming many groups, bands, teams and clubs into her home. She made the Cramer house the favorite hangout spot. Linda loved to sing and dance to the music of Motown and Elvis and attend live music events, especially at the Valley Forge Music Fair. She cherished vacations with family and friends at Rehoboth and Dewey beaches and Ocean City, MD. Entertaining friends and family by the pool, playing cards and loving on her grandchildren brought her immense happiness. In addition to her husband Larry, Linda is survived by her son Matthew Scott Cramer, husband of Brianne (Dever) of Lancaster and her daughter, Melanie Anne Beakes, wife of Matthew A. Beakes of Millersville. She loved her grandchildren: Marsali Grace Cramer, Connor Mark Beakes and Cole Matthew Beakes. She is survived by her brother Vernie Howard Wood Jr. of Holtwood and Patricia Anne Friday, wife of Gary P. Friday of Aiken, SC. Family and friends are invited to Linda’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Groff Family Funeral Home, 528 West Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 with Pastor Keith Price officiating. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private family interment will be held later at Bethesda United Methodist Church cemetery. The family would like to thank Compassus Home Health for the excellent loving care they provided to Linda.
