Lenny L. Riley

Lenny L. Riley, 51, of Lancaster, PA, went on to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, October 3, 2014 surrounded by family and friends after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence Riley and Betty Jane Riley of Lancaster. Lenny is survived by his husband and partner for life James Covert, Sr., foster parents, Kay and Bill Henry, brothers: Clarence, Jr. (Jimmy) and Ricky, sisters: Arla Brown and twin Pennie, spouse of Laura Savage, all of Lancaster, PA, step children: James, Jr., wife Sherry, Christopher, wife Gillian, Jonathan, wife Jen, four grandsons, all of the Mechanicsburg area and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and his extended family at Conestoga View. Lenny was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 28 years where he used his love of nursing to help everyone he came in contact with. He served as LPN Supervisor at Conestoga View for over 20 years where he provided extensive knowledge and guidance to all who came in contact with him. No matter where we went, people would come up to Lenny and thank him for taking such great care of their loved ones. He unselfishly put the care of his patients first and for this he will be rewarded. Over the years, Jim and Lenny had numerous pets that were part of their family and they loved them dearly. He was devoted to his spouse, family, friends and co-workers. He left us too soon, he will be missed but we know that he is pain free. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lenny’s Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Conestoga View Nursing Home, 900 East King Street, Lancaster with Major Osman and Chaplain Daniel Brubaker officiating. The family will receive friends at Conestoga View on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Conestoga Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Lenny’s name may be made to the SPCA, 848 S. Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17602.
