June W. Yecker

June W. Yecker, 92, of Lancaster, formerly of Leola, passed away on December 25, 2015, at Brethren Village, where she had lived since 2004. Born in New Providence, she was the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Mabel Stively Wiggins and the wife of the late Kenneth R. Yecker, who passed away in August 2003. June was a graduate of Quarryville High School, and Lancaster Business School. She worked as a bank teller for Fulton Bank in Leola for many years. She was a former member of the Leola United Methodist Church and currently a member of Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Neffsville. June was an avid reader, loved playing cards and enjoyed the challenge of jigsaw puzzles, scrabble and crossword puzzles and was known for collecting nativities of all types and sizes. She was a member of the LanChester Chorus, Brethren Village Choir, the ABWA, a volunteer at the Leola and Lititz Libraries, and the Susquehanna Association for the Blind. June enjoyed trips with her husband to visit family in Florida and Michigan. June will be lovingly remembered by her children; Judy Y., (David C.) Trost of Gordonville, Thomas K., (Connie) Yecker of Conestoga, Raymond E., (Anne) Yecker of Brownstown, and Linda Y., (Rodney) Gnau of York, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and also by a brother in law, Paul Yecker and a sister in law, Doris Resh and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Leberta Aukamp and her brothers; Claude and John Wiggins. According to June’s wishes a private burial service will be held. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Celebrate her Life in a Memorial Service to be held at the Chapel of Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 3:00 PM with(Minister) officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of sharing memories after the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in June’s memory to the Susquehanna Association for the Blind, 244 N. Queen St., Lancaster, PA 17603 or to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Dr., P.O. Box. 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
