Jenney L. Miller

Jenney L. Miller, 66, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health after a short battle with cancer. Jen was an employee at Armstrong World Industries for over 20 years and had planned to retire in April 2024. She had a great love for youth and served as a volunteer at various churches, most recently at Blossom Hill Mennonite where she was a member. Jen leaves behind her wife and best friend, Christine M. Miller. They shared 25 years and were legally married in 2015. She also leaves her beloved daughter, Beth Thompson, son-in-law, Patrick, and granddaughter, Tessa. In addition, she is survived by her mother, Virginia Kirk, her sister, Donna (Dennis) Coates, and her brother, Daniel (Cande) Kirk, two nieces, Dena Coates and Denise Farber and a nephew, Brandon Kirk. She was especially close to her cousin, Judy Deck and sister-in-law, Mary Bixler, who, along with her wife, Chris, shared Girls Week at the Beach for several years. She will be missed by numerous cousins and in-laws who loved her dearly. Jen was preceded in death by her father, Walter Kirk. Jenney’s family is deeply grateful for the care she received at LGH, particularly from the nurses and patient care advocates on 8 Lime who became family during her month in the hospital. We also thank the EMTs who transported her to Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute for radiation. In addition, we are thankful for our church leaders and members, neighbors, clients, and Jen’s coworkers, and especially the Mosher family, who provided prayer, support, meals, and pet care for Gabe and Solly, whom Jen loved immensely. We will never forget the kindness and generosity bestowed on us. In keeping with Jen’s giving spirit, her corneas were donated to Lion’s World Vision so others may see. A Memorial Service will be held at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church, 333 Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Friends are welcome to greet the family starting at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Jenney’s honor to Blossom Hill Mennonite Church with LGBTQ Concerns Committee in the memo line. They can be mailed to the church at 333 Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
