Jeannette S.(Tyson) Ebersole

Jeannette S. (Tyson) Ebersole, 82, of Marticville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born on February 5, 1935 in Mastersonville, PA, she was the loving wife of the late Eugene R. Ebersole. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Esther Tyson. Spending time with her family and making sure everyone was fed brought her great joy. Cooking and gardening were a passion. You never knew what was for supper, “Supper Surprise”. Jeannette loved canning from her garden each year and teaching her daughters and grandchildren how to preserve food. She had many flower beds and enjoyed when everything was in bloom. Games were a passion and she was a competitive player, even if she didn’t always follow the rules. For more than 45 years, she actively sold Tupperware. Jeannette and Eugene delivered the Lancaster New Era for over 30 years. She is survived by her sisters; Edna, wife of Wilber Brubaker, Lois, wife of Robert Neuenschwander, Josephine, wife of Glenn Brubaker, and Mary Sue wife of Bill Corey. And by her brothers; Isaac Tyson and his wife, Shirley, Timothy Tyson and his wife, Sharon, James Tyson and his wife, Vera, and Warren Tyson and his wife, Linda. Jeannette will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses, daughters; Cynthia, wife of Ralph Kauffman Jr. of Elizabethtown; Barbara, wife of James Baker of Elizabethtown; and Patricia, wife of Randall Kern of New Holland, sons; Lynwood Ebersole and wife, June, of Willow Street; Leonard Ebersole and wife, Lisa, of Mount Joy; Aaron Ebersole and wife, Carol, of Willow Street; Jeffery Ebersole and wife, Jessie, of Conestoga; Gregory Ebersole and wife, Luann, of New Providence; and Raymond Ebersole and wife, Jennifer, from York. Nanny will be greatly missed by her 19 grandchildren, their spouses, as well as her 14 1/2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two infant children, a grandson, and a great grandson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jeannette’s Funeral Service on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11:00AM at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street (corner of W. Orange and Pine Sts.) Lancaster, PA with Pastor Warren L. Tyson officiating. The family will receive friends at The Groffs Sunday from 6-8:00PM and Monday from 10:00AM until the time of service. Interment will be held at Stauffer Mennonite Cemetery, 790 Bachmanville Road, Hershey, PA.
