Janice Geisler

Janice Geisler, 88, affectionately known as “Danny,” of 600 East Roseville Road, Lancaster, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017. Born in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of Albert and Margaret Chapman. She was preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. George R. Geisler, and her brother, Albert Chapman, Jr. As a Pastor’s wife, she was actively involved in the parishes in which he served as an officer manager, choir director, soloist, Sunday school teacher and nursery school aid. Music was always central to her life starting at age 4 when she and her twin sister sang for soldiers departing for war and continuing throughout her lifetime as a member of various choral groups and church choirs. She took great joy in spending time with her many friends and family. She will be missed by her daughters, Deborah, wife of William Lovett, Mohnton, Donna, of Mount Joy, and Doreen, wife of Elmer Minnich of Sanford NC, her 8 grandchildren, Douglas, Kimberly, Kerry, Benjamin, Matthew, Julia, Meredith, and Suzanne, and their spouses, and 9 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Joshua, Adelyn, Landis, Hayden, Caleb, Lydia, Bennett, and Chloe. She is also survived by her twin sister, Dolores Teasdale, Miami, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janice’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service from Trinity United Church of Christ, 2340 State St., East Petersburg, PA 17520 on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with The Rev. Christopher M. Rankin officiating. The family will receive friends at The Groff Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange St. (Pine and W. Orange Sts.), Lancaster, PA 17603 on Tuesday, May 30th, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. and on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Interment will be private at the Trinity U.C.C. Cemetery, East Petersburg, PA. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity U.C.C., 2340 State Street, East Petersburg, PA, 17520 or Zion Lutheran Church, 1905 Broad Street, East Petersburg, PA 17520
