James Gordon Dickinson

James Dickinson passed away at home with loved ones after a brave battle against pancreatic cancer. He was an amazing man. Not just in the early years or the later years or in a way that feels almost like an obligatory description of a loved one who has passed away, but because he truly was an amazing man. He was kind. He was giving. He was forgiving. He was dependable. He was loving. He was a great listener. He was a devoted husband and an incredible father. He was a great grandfather and would immediately light up with joy whenever he was with his grandchildren. He loved to be surrounded by his family. He was so generous. He was considerate of others. He loved all kinds of music - everything from classic rock 'n' roll to Mariah Carey - and listening to a.m. radio. He enjoyed smoking cigars. He loved all sports and his favorite teams were the Phillies and the Eagles. He always saw the silver lining in any bad situation. He saw the good in everyone. He could always make you feel better. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He gave second chances - no questions asked or stipulations given. He was always excited to see a familiar face no matter how long it had been since he had seen them last. He was so incredibly selfless. He loved to drive - whether he was going somewhere or had nowhere to go. He loved watching Seinfeld and making references to his favorite lines and scenes. He was always just a phone call away - any time for any reason. He was a friend and father figure to all. He was a man of great faith. He never complained. He hated being late for anything. He never judged. He was accepting of everyone no matter their past mistakes or flaws. He was truly one of a kind. He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Ann Lutz Dickinson and they were married for 32 years. He is also survived by his children, Farryn Dickinson, Pittsburgh, PA, Ashley Hogg, Tobyn Dickinson, Jacob Dickinson, Anthony Dickinson, James Dickinson-Burtz, Justin Dickinson, Kyle Dickinson, Kelvin Dickinson, C.J. Dickinson, all of Lancaster and a brother Carl Dickinson, North Carolina and 9 grandchildren. Jim was active at The Worship Center and The Seed of Abraham Messianic Congregation, and a leader of the new Believer Group at The Worship Center; a member of The Man Zone also at The Worship Center and a volunteer @ The House of Ruth.
