Henry S. McCullough

Henry Scott McCullough, 96, lifelong resident of Lancaster County, PA, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Hospice & Community Care Inpatient Center in Mt. Joy, PA. He most recently resided in an independent apartment at Ephrata Manor. Born in Rohrerstown, PA, he was the son of the late Clyde and Helen Brown McCullough. Henry was married to Sarah McCullough until her death, and then spent 44 years of marriage to Helen L. McCullough, who died Nov. 25, 2012. Henry graduated from Boys High School, Lancaster. He retired from Armstrong World Industries where he was employed as a technician in the Armstrong Laboratories. A World War II veteran, he served from Nov. 1941 to Nov. 1945 in the 5th Air Force as a sergeant in the Philippines. He was commander of the Mt. Joy American Legion in 1975 and again in 1986. Henry was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Lancaster. He enjoyed metal detecting, hunting, fishing, and boating. He was a Big Band enthusiast. Henry is survived by his stepson Michael R. Krushinski, husband of Joyce Buckwalter Krushinski; four grandsons: Jason, husband of Brenda Loozen Krushinski; Erik, husband of Jennifer Raichle Krushinski; Scott, husband of Anna Smith Krushinski; and Brad, husband of Andrea Kinsey Krushinski; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wives, he was predeceased by three sisters: Betty Voght, Christine Geist, and Nancy Dull. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Henry’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Chapel of Moravian Manor Retirement Community, 300 West Lemon Street, Lititz, PA with Chaplain Sally Maxwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the Chapel from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service and again immediately following the service during a time of fellowship and refreshments. Private interment will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park. Please omit flowers.
