Donna Lorraine (Apple) Gibson, 91, embraced life with warmth, kindness, and an adventurous spirit. On Friday, February 7, 2025, she passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to Jesus Christ. Born on May 6, 1933, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Donna’s passion for education and nurturing young minds was evident from an early age. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Juniata College, she devoted herself to teaching and guiding countless kindergarteners at Lancaster Christian School. Beyond the classroom, she made a lasting impact as an NILD Educational Therapist, offering encouragement and specialized support to children who needed it most. Faith was the foundation of Donna’s life. As a devoted pastor’s wife, she found great honor in supporting her husband’s ministry in the church and the Lancaster Bible College classroom. She found deep joy in Bible studies and cherished her quiet morning devotions, always starting her day with Scripture and a warm cup of coffee. Her unwavering faith and love of learning touched the lives of those around her, inspiring them with her wisdom, grace, and steadfast spirit. Donna cherished time with her children and grandchildren, always eager to create lasting memories. From camping trips and days at the shore to the occasional joy of having ice cream for a meal, she embraced life’s little adventures with those she loved. Her love for travel and exploration reflected her curiosity and appreciation for the world around her. As she got older, life was filled with simple joys that made each day meaningful. She found happiness in a good book, the challenge of a puzzle, and the beauty of her garden. Whether sharing heartfelt conversations over coffee or taking peaceful walks with friends, she embraced every moment with gratitude and grace. As the years passed, some of her favorite days were spent driving with “Hoot” aka Ron, discovering new places, and admiring the beauty of God’s creation. Above all, Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her cherished daughters, Rhonda Cochran, Tammi Nash, and Josie Parker, along with ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever carry her love and wisdom in their hearts. She now joins her beloved husband, Ronald Gibson, in the joy of the Lord she longed to see. Donna’s fun-loving spirit and gentle heart touched the lives of many. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to inspire, bringing comfort and joy to all who were blessed enough to know her. Her legacy is one of kindness, faith, and an enduring love for her Savior. Please join us on Sunday, April 13, at 3:00 for a special time of remembering our mom, Donna Lorraine Apple Gibson.
