Dolly M. Baum

Dolly M. Baum, 91, of Elizabethtown, PA, entered eternal rest at Masonic Village on Monday, April 7, 2025. Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Miller M. and Edith M. (Brinser) Messick and the loving wife of Clair G. Baum celebrating 72 years of marriage to each other. They were introduced by their parents and met in Sunday School. While attending Elizabethtown High School, Dolly played first chair clarinet in the Band and Orchestra. Upon graduation, she worked for Bell Telephone in Harrisburg, and as a Teller at First National Bank. She served many roles at Baum’s Bologna for many years, including payroll and anything a family business needed to succeed. Dolly was a life-long member of Elizabethtown Church of The Brethren. At church, she volunteered in cradle roll and helped with offertory collections. Additionally, she gave of her time to Meals on Wheels . Dolly was an amazing mother and made every holiday special, whether big or small, with her excellent cooking and baking, or decorating skills and gifts. She and Clair enjoyed gardening, and spending time in Ocean City, MD. Her preference was on the beach and his was on the sea, but it always worked out perfectly! They always met in the middle and demonstrated true love! In addition to her husband, Clair, she is survived by her daughter, Beverly A. (John) Schantz, Lancaster, son, Dan M. (Jennifer) Baum, Elizabethtown, son, Thomas A. (Elaine) Baum, Mount Gretna, three grandchildren: Ryan, Megan and Samuel, six great-great-grandchildren: Hailey, Mya, Coszette, Alana, Mason and Claire. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dolly’s Funeral Service at Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, 777 S. Mount Joy Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Liz Bidgood Enders officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at West Green Tree COB Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolly’s name may be made to St. Jude’s and Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren.
