Claressia Grace Gebhard

Claressia Grace Gebhard, 79, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday morning at the Lancaster General Hospital after battling a long-term illness. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Ella Foltz Greiner. She was the loving wife of James Alvin Gebhard, Sr.; together they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 16, 2016. She was a 1955 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. Claressia was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster. She enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and loved The Walking Dead. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed doing ceramics, loved cooking, playing bingo, camping in the mountains, and going to the beach with her family. Claressia was a woman full of life who had a personality that could light up any room. She was a strong and fearless woman and she never failed to make someone feel good about him or her self. She always managed to put others before her own self. In her 79 years, she created a lifetime of love and happiness that radiated her family. Claressia will be lovingly remembered by her husband James; her children; James A., Jr., (Barbara) Gebhard, Randy L., Sr., (Cathy A.) Gebhard, Kathy L. Gebhard, Lisa J., (Scott B.) Hinkle all of Lancaster and Scott B., (Stephanie J.) Gebhard of Millersville, her 13 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her siblings; Blanche, (Ellis) Kauffman of Lititz, Edward Greiner of Lebanon, and Raymond, (Eleanor) Greiner of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Harry, and Roy Greiner. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life at The Groffs Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 528 West Orange Street at Pine Street, Lancaster, PA., on Tuesday June 14th at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The Groffs on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. If desired memorials may be sent in Claressia's memory to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation Inc. , P.O. Box 49 Annandale, VA. 22003.
