Charlotte Staedtler

Charlotte Staedtler, 94 of Willow Street, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 4, 2015. She was the wife of the late Edward Staedtler to whom she was married for over 68 years, and the daughter of the late Daniel Arthur and Lottie Fisher Blake. Charlotte was raised in Southwest Philadelphia and graduated from West Philadelphia High School as salutatorian of her class. She attended Pierce Business School and Philadelphia College of Bible. Charlotte married Second Lt. Edward H Staedtler and raised their first born on her own for 2 years while he was fighting overseas in WWII. After moving to Levittown in 1952, Charlotte and her family attended Calvary Baptist Church in Bristol. Having accepted the Lord as her savior in her youth, she enjoyed many activities in the church. Charlotte taught a high school girl’s Sunday school class for 20 years, organized spiritual retreats for youth and her contemporaries, and taught a young married couples class along with her husband Ed. Charlotte started a group in her church called “Forever Young” as a way for those who were middle aged and above to gather socially and spiritually. She served as a leader in Christian Woman’s Club and was the co-owner/operator of Lifeline Christian Supply Bookstore in Levittown. Charlotte was known for her hospitality and even following retirement, she welcomed many into her home for Bible studies and other occasions. Anyone who knew Charlotte will remember her ever- present smile and her willingness to put the Lord first in her life and share the joy of the Lord with her family and others. She is survived by her children Richard (Edith), Donald (Susan), Deborah Rowland (Robert), her grandchildren Stephen and David Staedtler, Amber Stetler, Courtney Morrow, Grace Staedtler, Morgan and Mallory Rowland, and 10 great grand children. A memorial service and celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Community Room at Willow Valley Lakes Manor, 300 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Grace Baptist Church of Lancaster, Marietta Ave. or Calvary Baptist Church of Bristol, Green Lane.
