Carmelita "Carmie" Keiser

Carmelita “Carmie” Keiser, 79, of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Carmen and Helen (Angelini) DeGregorio. She was the loving wife of Thomas E. Keiser for 56 years. Carmie was a good and faithful servant, attending church was nonnegotiable, whether it was on a cruise, or on a desert in Aruba during her travels with her husband, she attended Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Lancaster and St. Peter Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Carmie graduated from Lancaster Catholic H.S and then earned her Bachelor’s degree from Millersville University in Education. She taught first grade at Rossville Elementary for five years. Carmie began a 25 year career at Verizon beginning in the sales department and transferring to becoming a technician in the field. After retirement, she took part in several organizations including, The Literacy Council as a tutor, where she assisted families with the process to obtain citizenship, The Fulton Opera House as an Usher, and The Penn Dutch Pacers as a volunteer coordinator. During her free time, Carmie enjoyed spending time with friends and family, puttering about the garden and loved to cook and eat. Some of her specialties included spaghetti sauce, and old fashion recipes. In addition to her husband, Carmelita is survived by a son, Douglas Keiser, a daughter, Michelle Cramer, and a granddaughter, Rose Cramer. In addition to her parents, Carmelita is preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Ralph DeGregorio, and one sister, Dolores Kane. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carmie’s Memorial Service at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 440 Saint Joseph Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of service. Interment will be held at St. Joseph's New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Carmie’s name may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601, and Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
